Spend your holidays in Pelion, which combines uniquely mountain and sea. Pelion is the mountain with the largest variety of vegetation in Greece. It extends from the northwest part of the prefecture of Magnesia to the southeast part, between the Aegean Sea and the Pagasitic Gulf. In mythology Pelion was the summer home of ancient gods and the home country of the Centaurs.
One of the most traditional villages of Pelion is Tsagarada, about 48 km far from the city of Volos. It is built at an altitude of 500 meters and it is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Greece. There are numerous hotels and guesthouses with a spectacular view by the sea. The village of Tsagarada is composed of four smaller settlements that are named according to the churches in their central squares. Agios Taksiarhis, Agia Paraskevi, Agios Stephanos and Agia Kiriaki.
